Straight commercial gains to soulful, non-profit organizations- all through your favourite freelance graphic designer and independent artist.
Serving Ontario, Canada, as a friendly one-stop digital media shop- it comes with the honour to switch from commissioned graphic designs for commercial profits to support the backbone of non-profit organizations- where I can only hope to rekindle the same ideology among those reading.
As much as we let financial stability become our primary motivator, it takes authentically spirited entrepreneurs and individuals to establish and support causes that exclude retail or traditional consumer services. While the consumer market is for equal trade, that is the bottom line of what we have grown accustomed to as consumers, where sometimes we neglect to be thankful and give back.
The change of pace is always refreshing, and it is safe to say that there is less pressure regarding non-profits when it correlates to commercial graphic designs. I do not claim that there is a lack of jive towards scaling their success—but it is a whole-hearted process with no external overwhelm.
Previously, I conquered the digital backbone behind another non-profit, which you may know as Faith-Filled Empowered Entrepreneurs. Through a dedicated mission, it has been gratifying to be behind this project, articulating their logo and brand identity through their website design. Although I enjoy opportunities for commercial success, it comes with reassertion as a freelance graphic designer that my creativity requires outside of my comfort zone.
Another project where long-lost relationships have reconnected through an underlying cause—this time, it was Project Underdogs. CEO Sophia Fremis was patient, flexible, and solely appreciative, as our schedules conflicted while aiming to get this project off the ground.
From her hometown turf, Sophia Fremis was in touch from Mount Albert, Ontario, seeking a logo and brand identity that will primarily establish her presence on both print and website. This project created the foundation where awareness can spread while acquisition can accumulate through tangible print and social media.
All for a good cause—as for the graphic design project, Project Underdogs was out to pass forward a message that many Canadians have fallen short of actively passing around in 2025. The United States has been showing more recognition, but as for Remembrance Day, it is vital that we applaud, cherish, and remain grateful to Veterans on this side of the border.
Sophia Fremis was out to deliver supportive resources for Canadian Veterans, and her sole mission was through therapeutic relief, support, and guidance from furry friends. As pet acquaintances become popular in therapeutic processes after the pandemic, I can only imagine this to work wonders in helping our dedicated veterans acquire the support they require.
Through pure intent and a superb visionary, I hope you can support CEO Sophia Fremis through her endeavours coordinating Project Underdogs.
